Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 17, 2026 Welcome to Grip Marketplace. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Grip Marketplace website, marketplace, and related services. By creating an account, posting a listing, making a purchase, renting equipment, or otherwise using Grip Marketplace, you agree to these Terms.

1. Grip Marketplace

Grip Marketplace is an online marketplace that allows users to list, rent, buy, and sell grip gear and other eligible equipment, and allows crew members and hiring parties to connect about work.

Grip Marketplace is operated by Grip Support.

By accessing or using Grip Marketplace, you agree to these Terms.

Grip Marketplace provides technology and services that help facilitate transactions between marketplace users. Unless otherwise stated, Grip Marketplace does not own the equipment listed by users and is not the renter, rental owner, buyer, seller, employer, or hiring party in transactions between users.

Users are responsible for evaluating listings, equipment, crew members, hiring parties, and other users before entering into a transaction or working arrangement.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use Grip Marketplace and complete transactions.

If you create an account on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

You are responsible for providing accurate and current account information and for maintaining the security of your account.

You may not impersonate another person, create an account using false information, or use another person's account without authorization.

You are responsible for activity conducted through your account. You must notify Grip Marketplace promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

Grip Marketplace may suspend, restrict, or close an account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe a user has violated these Terms or marketplace policies, or where we consider it necessary to protect other users or the marketplace.

You may close your account at any time. Closing an account does not affect obligations arising from transactions completed before closure.

3. Listings

Users who post equipment, crew profiles, or other listings are responsible for ensuring that their listings are accurate and complete.

Listing owners must accurately describe:

The equipment being offered The equipment's condition Rental or sale pricing Availability Included items and accessories Pickup, delivery, or shipping information Applicable rental requirements Any material restrictions or conditions

Crew members must accurately represent their own experience, credits, skills, and any credentials or affiliations they choose to display.

Users may only list equipment they own or are legally authorized to rent or sell. Listing stolen equipment is prohibited. Grip Marketplace may remove such listings and cooperate with law enforcement.

Grip Marketplace may remove or restrict listings that violate these Terms, marketplace policies, applicable laws, or the rights of others. Grip Marketplace has no obligation to monitor or review listings, and reviewing one listing does not create an obligation to review others.

4. Rentals

Rental owners are responsible for accurately representing the condition and availability of rental equipment.

Rented equipment remains the property of the rental owner at all times. A rental does not transfer ownership.

Renters are responsible for reviewing the listing and applicable rental requirements before completing a transaction.

Renters agree to use rented equipment responsibly and return it in accordance with the agreed rental terms.

Rental owners are responsible for providing equipment that is in safe and working condition. Renters are responsible for using equipment safely, for ensuring it is operated and rigged by qualified personnel, and for complying with all applicable safety requirements on set.

Renters must inspect equipment at pickup or upon receipt and report any material problems to the rental owner within 24 hours. Equipment not reported is presumed to have been received in the condition described.

Rental owners select a cancellation policy, which is shown on the listing before a renter books. The policy shown at the time of booking governs that rental, including any refund the renter receives. Renters should review it before completing a booking.

If a rental is cancelled, marketplace fees, security deposits, and Grip Marketplace Protection fees are refunded in accordance with the applicable cancellation policy and these Terms.

Grip Marketplace applies the cancellation policy that was in effect when the booking was made. Disputes about a cancellation are between the rental owner and the renter.

Renters may not sublet, re-rent, or transfer possession of rented equipment to any third party without the rental owner's written permission.

The renter may be responsible for loss, theft, damage, late returns, missing items, or other charges as permitted by the applicable rental agreement, marketplace policies, and law.

Rentals are agreed directly between the rental owner and the renter. Grip Marketplace is not a party to any rental agreement and is not responsible for the performance of either side.

5. Rental Requirements

Rental owners may establish certain requirements for their equipment listings.

Depending on the listing, these may include:

A Security Deposit A Certificate of Insurance (COI) Grip Marketplace Protection Other disclosed rental requirements

Rental owners are responsible for clearly disclosing their requirements on the rental listing. Renters are responsible for reviewing and satisfying those requirements before receiving the equipment.

Rental owners may decline or cancel a rental if their requirements are not met before the equipment is released.

Grip Marketplace does not set, review, or enforce rental owner requirements.

6. Security Deposits

Rental owners may require a security deposit.

When required, the applicable security deposit amount will be displayed as part of the rental requirements and collected through Grip Marketplace.

Security deposits may be held for the duration of the rental.

After the equipment is returned and the rental is completed without applicable charges, the security deposit will be released or refunded within 3 business days, subject to bank processing times.

If the rental is canceled, the security deposit will be fully refunded.

If there is a dispute involving loss, damage, missing equipment, or other applicable charges, Grip Marketplace may hold the security deposit while the parties work toward a resolution. Owners and renters are responsible for resolving disputes between themselves. Grip Marketplace is not an arbitrator, does not determine fault, and is not obligated to decide the outcome of any dispute.

Where Grip Marketplace Protection applies to a transaction, the security deposit may be applied toward any renter deductible or charges not covered under the program.

7. Certificates of Insurance (COI)

Some rental owners may require a Certificate of Insurance ("COI") before releasing equipment.

When a COI is required, the renter is responsible for obtaining appropriate insurance separately and providing the required documentation, including naming the rental owner as an additional insured if requested, and maintaining that coverage for the full rental period.

Renters may be required to upload their COI through Grip Marketplace for review by the rental owner. Grip Marketplace transmits these documents only. Grip Marketplace does not review, verify, or approve any COI, and does not confirm that a policy is authentic, accurate, or remains in force.

The rental owner is responsible for determining whether the submitted COI satisfies their requirements, and should not release equipment until they are satisfied with the coverage.

Grip Marketplace does not guarantee that a COI or insurance policy will satisfy a particular owner's requirements and does not provide legal or insurance advice.

8. Grip Marketplace Protection

Grip Marketplace Protection

Grip Marketplace Protection is a damage waiver designed to provide protection against eligible theft and damage to rented equipment. Grip Marketplace Protection is not an insurance policy.

The damage waiver is provided by the rental owner for each rental. Grip Marketplace facilitates the purchase and collects the fee. Rental owners may require renters to select and purchase an applicable Grip Marketplace Protection option through Grip Marketplace.

Grip Marketplace Protection applies only to rentals booked and paid for through Grip Marketplace. Equipment rented through arrangements made outside the marketplace is not covered.

Protection options. When a rental owner requires Grip Marketplace Protection, the renter selects the option that matches the value of the equipment and pays the corresponding fee at checkout:

Tier Protection amount (up to) Renter deductible Fee paid by renter Tier 1 $2,500 $250 $72 Tier 2 $5,000 $250 $79 Tier 3 $7,500 $500 $124 Tier 4 $10,000 $500 $161 Tier 5 $15,000 $500 $176

The protection amount is the maximum the waiver will pay for eligible theft or damage during the rental period. The renter deductible is the amount the renter remains responsible for on any covered claim. Any loss above the selected protection amount, and anything excluded under the program terms, remains the renter's responsibility.

Equipment valued above $15,000 is not eligible for Grip Marketplace Protection on its own. Rental owners of such equipment may require a security deposit and/or a certificate of insurance in addition to, or instead of, the waiver.

Protection amounts, fees, deductibles, eligibility requirements, limitations, and exclusions may vary depending on the selected option and applicable program terms. If a rental is canceled, the Grip Marketplace Protection fee will be fully refunded.

Grip Marketplace Protection is subject to separate program terms, limitations, eligibility requirements, and exclusions. Athos Insurance administers the Grip Marketplace Protection program and handles related inquiries and disputes. Grip Marketplace does not evaluate, approve, deny, or pay claims under the program.

In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the specific terms governing Grip Marketplace Protection, the applicable Grip Marketplace Protection program terms will control with respect to the damage waiver.

9. Purchases and Sales

Users may buy and sell eligible equipment through Grip Marketplace.

Sellers are responsible for accurately describing the items they offer for sale and ensuring they have the legal right to sell them. Grip Marketplace does not inspect, test, authenticate, or verify the ownership, condition, or safety of any item listed.

Buyers are responsible for reviewing listing information before completing a purchase.

Sellers must provide purchased items in the condition described in the listing and according to the agreed delivery, pickup, or shipping terms.

Any applicable return or refund rights will be governed by the policies disclosed for the transaction and applicable law.

Sales are agreed directly between the buyer and the seller. Grip Marketplace is not a party to any sale and is not responsible for the performance of either side.

10. Crew Listings

Grip Marketplace links to the Grip Crew Directory, operated by Grip Support, where crew members create profiles so that hiring parties can find and contact them about work.

Grip Marketplace is a listing and contact service only. Grip Marketplace is not an employer, staffing agency, employment agency, talent agency, recruiter, or payroll service, and does not place crew, procure work, or participate in hiring.

All hiring, negotiation of rates, scheduling, supervision, and payment for work is agreed and handled directly between the hiring party and the crew member, outside of Grip Marketplace. No payment for work is processed through the marketplace, and Grip Marketplace receives no fee, commission, or share of any amount a crew member earns.

Listings are reviewed before publication to screen for spam and obvious misuse. That review is not an endorsement, background check, or verification of any kind. Grip Marketplace does not verify identity, experience, skills, credentials, union membership, licenses, certifications, work eligibility, or insurance, and does not conduct background checks.

Hiring parties are solely responsible for meeting their legal obligations to anyone they hire, including worker classification, wages, working hours, workers' compensation, insurance, and workplace safety.

Crew members are responsible for assessing whether any job is safe and appropriate for them to accept.

Grip Marketplace is not responsible for any injury, death, loss, damage, unpaid wages, or dispute arising from work arranged between users.

11. Payments and Marketplace Fees

Grip Marketplace may facilitate payments through third-party payment processors.

Users authorize Grip Marketplace and its payment service providers to process amounts associated with marketplace transactions, including applicable rental charges, purchase prices, marketplace fees, security deposits, Grip Marketplace Protection fees, shipping charges, taxes, and other disclosed amounts.

Grip Marketplace currently charges a 10% fee on gear rentals and sales, deducted from the amount paid out to the owner or seller.

Marketplace fees apply to equipment rentals and sales only. Grip Marketplace does not charge crew members or hiring parties any fee to create a profile, appear in search, be contacted, or be hired. Crew members may optionally purchase a company listing to promote their own business. Company listings are advertising and do not affect search ranking, visibility, or how crew members appear to hiring parties.

Applicable fees will be disclosed as part of the marketplace transaction or listing process.

Payouts are issued to the owner or seller through our payment processor once the transaction is complete. Once released, funds typically arrive within 1 to 3 business days depending on the recipient's bank. Grip Marketplace does not control bank processing times.

Marketplace fees are non-refundable once a transaction is completed, except where required by law or where Grip Marketplace elects to refund them.

Users are responsible for determining and paying any taxes owed on income earned through Grip Marketplace. Grip Marketplace does not provide tax advice.

Grip Marketplace may update its fees from time to time. Updated fees will apply prospectively as disclosed through the marketplace.

12. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use Grip Marketplace for any unlawful purpose
  • List, rent, or sell stolen equipment, or equipment you are not authorized to rent or sell
  • Misrepresent yourself, your equipment, your experience, or your credentials
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Circumvent marketplace fees by moving a transaction off the marketplace after connecting through it
  • Post false, misleading, or manipulated reviews

Grip Marketplace may remove content, restrict features, or close accounts in response to prohibited conduct.

13. User Content

Users may post listings, photographs, descriptions, profile information, reviews, and messages ("User Content").

You retain ownership of your User Content. By posting it, you grant Grip Marketplace a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt for display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the marketplace. This license ends when you remove the content, except for copies retained in backups or where the content has been shared with others who have not deleted it.

You are responsible for having the rights to everything you post, including photographs. Do not post images, logos, or text belonging to someone else without permission.

Grip Marketplace may remove User Content that violates these Terms, marketplace policies, applicable law, or the rights of others, but has no obligation to monitor or review User Content.

14. Reviews

Reviews are written by users and reflect their own opinions and experiences.

Reviews are not verified, endorsed, or adopted by Grip Marketplace.

You may not offer or accept anything of value in exchange for a review, write reviews about your own listings, or post reviews you know to be false.

Grip Marketplace may remove reviews that violate these Terms, but is not obligated to remove a review simply because a user disagrees with it.

15. Privacy

Your use of Grip Marketplace is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how it is used.

Users who receive another user's contact information through the marketplace may use it only for the purpose of the transaction or work inquiry it relates to. It may not be sold, added to a mailing list, or used for unrelated

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of Grip Marketplace arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the marketplace will not exceed the greater of the total marketplace fees you paid to Grip Marketplace in the six months preceding the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100).

These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory on which a claim is based and even if Grip Marketplace has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

Grip Marketplace may assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification, at your expense. You agree to cooperate with that defense and not to settle any matter without our prior written consent.

19. Disputes Between Users

Disputes about equipment, payment, condition, damage, work, or conduct are between the users involved.

Grip Marketplace is not an arbitrator and is not obligated to mediate, investigate, or resolve disputes between users. Where Grip Marketplace chooses to assist, doing so once does not create an obligation to do so again, and does not make Grip Marketplace responsible for the outcome.

You release Grip Marketplace, Grip Support, and their officers, employees, and agents from any claims, demands, and damages of every kind arising out of or connected with disputes between users.

If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."

20. Governing Law

Grip Marketplace may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Changes apply going forward. Continuing to use the marketplace after Terms are updated means you accept them.
